Using SafelyShare
- You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account information.
- You’re responsible for activity on your account — keep your sign-in secure.
- Use items lawfully and treat fellow members with respect.
Listing items
As a lender you confirm you own (or are entitled to lend) the item, that it’s safe and accurately described, and that you’ll honour accepted bookings. Listings must follow local law.
Borrowing items
As a borrower you agree to use items with care and have them ready for collection at the end of your rental, in the condition you received them.
Delivery & collection
SafelyShare operates a managed-delivery service: once a booking is accepted, we collect the item from the owner, deliver it to the address you provide, and collect it again for return. You can follow each step on your order’s tracking timeline, and our team may record proof photos at collection and delivery. Please provide accurate address and contact details and be reachable for handover.
Payments & fees
During the beta, no online payments are taken — rentals and delivery are free while we test the service. When online payments launch they will be processed by Stripe and SafelyShare will keep a service fee on completed rentals; the applicable fees and cancellation rules will be shown at checkout.
Messaging
SafelyShare includes a messaging feature so borrowers and lenders can ask each other about an item. Use it respectfully — no harassment, spam, or unlawful content. Please note that messages are not end-to-end encrypted: they are protected in transit and at rest, but they are stored on our servers and may be accessed by our team where necessary to resolve disputes, investigate abuse, or comply with the law. Don’t share sensitive information such as card numbers or passwords in messages.
Damage & disputes
If an item is returned damaged, the deposit may be claimed in part or full. Disputes are reviewed by our team based on the evidence both parties provide.
Liability
SafelyShare is a platform connecting borrowers and lenders. We’re not a party to the rental itself and provide the service “as is” to the extent permitted by law.
