Privacy policy

Last updated July 2026

SafelyShare (“we”, “us”) helps neighbours borrow and lend everyday items. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

What we collect

  • Account details — your name, email, and profile photo from Google sign-in.
  • Profile & delivery details — your phone number and the pickup/delivery addresses we use to collect and deliver items.
  • Listings, bookings & delivery — items you list, the rentals you request or accept, and the delivery-tracking record (including proof photos our team may take at collection and delivery).
  • Messages — conversations you have with other members through our messaging feature, stored so both parties can coordinate their rental.
  • Payments — handled by Stripe. We store payment references, never your full card number.
  • Usage data — basic logs needed to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use it

  • To run the marketplace — create listings, process bookings, and move payments.
  • To keep people safe — verify identity for high-value items and prevent abuse.
  • To send transactional emails and, with your consent, booking notifications.

Messages & encryption

Messages you send on SafelyShare are not end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on our infrastructure, but SafelyShare can access message content on its servers. We only do so where necessary — for example to resolve a dispute between members, investigate reported abuse, or meet a legal obligation. Avoid sharing sensitive information such as payment details or passwords in messages.

Sharing

We share data only with the other party to a booking (so you can coordinate), and with service providers such as Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), and our email provider. We never sell your personal data.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can access, correct, export, or delete your data. You can export or erase your account from your account settings, or contact us at support@veyrotech.com.
